Sleep On It!

When your mind is foggy and you’re feeling a bit tired, it’s really hard to make the right decision in your life. That’s when it’s time to either take a power nap, or simply go to be for the night.

It’s amazing how rest can rejuvenate the mind and help us to think more clearly and to come up with the answers we are struggling to find. ANOTHER WAY of getting awesome clarity AND mental rest is to use hypnotherapy.

Whether it’s self hypnosis (meditation with visualization) or working with a hypnotherapist and doing some guided meditation, you’ll learn to relax and go deep to where you can find the answers. Check out the video below.

My Story

I’m 16 years old. My parents had divorced a few years earlier, mainly because of my father’s alcoholism. And now, my mother is marrying another alcoholic, and my father, who I felt close to, moves 1,500 miles away. I feel lost and my self-worth drops. I’m thinking: Does anyone care about me?  (By the way, I never saw my dad again, and he died when I was 42.) My new step father dies of a heart attack a year after my mother marries him. So, I meet an older guy, who I’m thinking will give me the security I need, and we get married when I’m 19.

Now I’m 28 years old. By then, I had three horrendous pregnancy losses: A stillborn girl at eight months, then an ectopic pregnancy that required surgery, and a premature baby that didn’t survive. My husband cheats on me with a prostitute and is addicted to various sedatives, and threatens me with bodily harm, so I get a restraining order and a divorce. I had moved to a state where I didn’t have friends, I had lost my children, and at the age of 28, I feel like my life is OVER.

When You’re Afraid Of The Very Thing That You Want

Sometimes the very thing that we want scares the crap out of us. Why is that, and what do you do about it?

When we go after our dream, we begin to find ourselves in uncharted territory. And it can get very scary, very quickly, and this will stop us in our tracks.

Why We Get Stuck, And How To Break Free

Sometimes we find ourselves at a crossroads: Wanting to go in a particular direction, or perhaps confused as to what that direction is.

Our soul seems to be crying out for something more. There’s a yearning for a new direction and possibly a new career; but we’re lost in a sea of confusion, and we can’t clearly see the horizon.

So we keep trying, and searching, and yet we stay stuck; stuck in our comfort zone, which becomes incredibly uncomfortable over time. We try and try to move forward, but strangely, it can seem okay to be where we are are, until we realize that we’re like a bird that’s stayed in the nest too long. (We’ve outgrown it, and it’s getting a bit smelly in there.)

Like allot of people, I’ve experienced this feeling many times.

What’s Stopping You?

I’m guessing there’s some area of your life that you’re not living FULLY.
 
Some aspect of it that isn’t totally in balance.
 
Is it the work you do? The relationship you’re in (or not in)? Perhaps missing out on fun and recreation?
Every client I’ve ever worked with has had some area of their life that was out of balance, and chances are you do too. (Is anyone’s life perfect?)
And when it comes to shifting that area, I just want to ask:  What’s stopping you?
 
What’s holding you back from going after what you really want?
 
For me, its usually been fear.
 
Fear that I’d fail.
Fear that I’d be rejected. Again.
Fear of scarcity… that the money would run out… 
 
But the truth is that what really runs out is time.
 
The time to live in your power and be really connected to who you are.
 
To make the changes you want to make in the world before it’s too late and your time is up.
 
You may be aware in the back of your mind that time is indeed running out, but you kid yourself that you can buy more time when you truly can’t.
 
It’s like how a business owner feels at the end of the year when their business is still failing and they didn’t take the opportunity during the year to do what they needed to do to improve their results.
 
Then they suddenly realize that it’s too late.
 
If you want to make an impact on the world but you’re stuck in a job that’s not in alignment with your passion…
 
If you don’t like where you live and you’ve thought about moving for years but you haven’t been able to let go…
 
If your relationships aren’t where you want them to be (personal OR family)…
 
It’s time to consider the mindset behind the block.
Is it fear of something unknown? Beliefs caused by past experience?
It’s time to look under the hood and find out what needs tweaking.
Look within, because that’s the only place you’ll find the answers.

Stop Looking Outside Yourself!

The pain of not knowing our direction can cause HUGE amounts of anxiety.
Asking everyone (except ourselves) what the answer is, and then fear and all sorts of self-sabotaging creeps in. And I mean creep!
The truth is, you can ask 50 people the SAME question (assuming you’ll get the same answer from each one), but most likely, you won’t!
 
And EVEN if most of them have the same answer, it might not be the right answer for you!
 
So on you go asking more people the same question, and still not finding the right answer.
Then your anxiety sky rockets so high that your head feels like it’s going to implode. Ouch!
 
That’s because only YOU know the answer. The problem is that either you don’t trust your gut, or you’ve totally lost the connection with that inner voice that’s trying to tell you YOUR truth.
 
You see, we each have our own truth that’s unique and in alignment with US.
 
So we need to love ourselves enough, believe in ourselves enough, or if we’re really out of practice; get some help from someone that can get us reconnected with ourselves and find the answer QUICK!
 
You’ve got to start by taking a deep breath, relaxing and looking within and FEEL what the right answer is.
 
It can take practice and lots of belief and trust.

Are You Living An Authentic Life?

This morning, someone asked me what I do. And every time I break it down, it comes down to helping people take these three steps:

  1. Heal your past.
  2. Create your future.
  3. Live an authentic life.

Sounds simple, doesn’t it? The truth is millions of people are struggling with this every day. Whether it’s an entrepreneur who’s confused and stuck, or a professional woman who’s thinking of getting a divorce, or someone who’s grappling with PTSD; it’s truly the same process. All. The. Same.

Let me explain with the how and the why this is necessary to be fulfilled as I go through each step.

  1. Heal your past. Would you put new decorations in your house if it needed a good cleaning? No. And you wouldn’t be doing the mindset work and focusing on what you want when you’ve got emotional baggage stuck in your subconscious mind. (That’s why people try to diet and they don’t lose weight because they’ve still got the emotional stuff going on.) So, It’s important to work through it and then move on to step two. I don’t care what it is that you’re trying to accomplish.
  2. Create your future. Getting clear on your direction is the next step. But, like tapping into the past within the subconscious mind, you need to dig deep into the emotions again to discover your true path. Get out of your head and into your heart. Be honest with yourself, and shut out what you think you should do, or what other people want you to do, or anything else that doesn’t align with your heart. It might sound corny, but it’s the only way.
  3. Live an authentic life. After you’ve healed the past and started on your path, it’s important to stay in that emotional guidance of your heart. And there are many roadblocks that can get in your way: Losing focus, being fearful or anxious, falling into mindset traps such as scarcity, and more. Creating mindset habits that will keep you steady and on your path so you’re living the life that’s truly YOU, and doing the work that’s in sync with who you ARE, is that authenticity that will leave you feeling that you’re living a life that’s full.

These steps have the power to get you into alignment with who you are, what you want, and get past the residual emotions and limiting beliefs that have kept you stuck living a life that’s not authentic.
